Product & commercial strategy

Your product works. Let’s make it grow.

Good technology does not sell itself. I work on the commercial side too: who the product is for, why customers stay, and how pricing and costs add up to a profitable business. Advice from someone who understands both the platform and the P&L.

Technical and commercial

Technology that pays off, not just technology that works.

Many strong teams build an excellent platform and then struggle to find the customers it deserves. Sometimes the answer is a different audience, a different offer or a different price, not more features. Because I understand the technology, the commercial advice stays realistic about what your product can do.

Acquisition

The right customers, channels and message.

Retention

Why users leave, and what makes them stay.

Pricing

Packaging and prices that match the value you deliver.

Margin

More profit without more cost, often with less.

What it includes

From diagnosis to a plan the team can follow.

We start with what the numbers and your customers are already telling you, then decide what to change first.

Positioning & product direction

Who the product is really for, what makes it worth paying for, and what to stop building.

Acquisition

Which customers to go after, through which channels, with which message.

Retention

Where users drop off, why they leave, and the product and service changes that keep them.

Pricing & monetisation

Plans, packaging and pricing that match the value customers get.

Margin & cost

Infrastructure, vendors and team time matched to revenue, so growth is profitable.

Roadmap tied to revenue

A product roadmap prioritised by commercial impact, not by who asked last.

Questions

Commercial strategy, explained.

Why would a CTO advise on commercial strategy?

Because technology and commercial decisions are tied together. In CTO and CPTO roles I co-owned revenue, retention and margin decisions with founders and boards. Knowing what the product can realistically do keeps the commercial plan honest.

We are both technical founders. Is this for us?

Very much so. Technical teams often build a strong platform and then find growth harder than expected. A commercial perspective from someone who speaks your language can open up options you had not considered.

Do you replace a marketing or sales team?

No. I help you decide what to sell, to whom and at what price, and how the product supports that. Your team, or the people you hire, carry it out.

How is it priced?

Every engagement is scoped and priced per project. We agree it after the intro call, once we both know what you need.
